book design for artist maggie taylor. the artist’s visual interpretations of lewis carroll series —‘alice’s adventures in wonderland’ and ‘through the looking glass’—are evocatively rich with symbols and themes of inner states and unusual realities. the design of the books follow along a similar trajectory as the development of the character, following her as she goes from childhood to adolescence—a rite of passage communicated through color and overall tone.
