THE HODGES EFFECT CAMPAIGN
’zine/billboard design for the international space week at cork, ireland. this campaign aimed to bring awareness of the hodges effect, known as a “physical change and/or an existential crisis” that may occur after a person is struck by an object from outer space. the design incorporates the meteorite that was central to the story, while the hyperactive layouts reference the chaos that ensued after the incident and the long-lasting impact of the meteorite. the neon green acts as an unusual, foreign agent, much like the extra-terrestrial intervention itself. the campaign is a collaboration with sean miller and sean taylor, and it was commissioned by the national sculpture factory at cork, ireland.
